Beach and Backyard:
The backyard is sure to be a favorite at Shady Palms.
Sit in the large, shady, backyard where the gulf breeze cools even the hottest summer day. Australian Pines and Coconut Palms tower over the property shading the backyard while the sun, the fun, and the beach are just a step away. Eating beachside is one of the best parts of Shady Palms. Choose the large dining table and chairs close to the house or the picnic table out near the beach. Either way outdoor meals are convenient, fun and relaxing, and with the best view on the island - dining in will be everyone's first choice - guaranteed! There are additional chairs scattered around the backyard providing plenty of seating for all, or lay back in the hammocks, large enough for two - And the best part - enjoy it all right in your own backyard!
Inside the house:
When you enter Shady Palms, the first thing you'll notice is the beautiful view of the beach. You'll see it when you walk through the front door and from just about anywhere else you go. Watch the sunset from the kitchen or dining room. Watch a storm forming over the water miles away while you're safe and sound in the cozy living room or on the back porch. Fall asleep to the sound of the surf right outside the bedroom window. Many visitors enjoy exploring this unique house and discovering its wonders.

Kitchen:
You will feel right at home in the fully-equipped kitchen including, stainless appliances, a center island workspace, and every fun gadget imaginable for island cooking and entertaining! Plenty of serving and seating for plenty of guests makes entertaining stress free because you'll always have what you need. Two refrigerators - and two icemakers - means never running out of space or ice!
Three Living Areas:
Main Living Room:
Two comfortable lounge chairs, and a sofa with a 70" flat screen SMART TV. Cable provided plus Netflix. DVD player and a variety of family friendly movies. Stream on the SMART TV. WiFi provided and reaches most of the backyard.
Game Room/Front Porch:
Game table and "Take One-Leave One" bookshelves. Everything you need for a Family Game Night! Old-fashioned games, playing cards, and puzzles provide family fun. Explore the indigenous shell and fossil collection with many unique artifacts found in and around Anna Maria over a span of 80 years.
Gulf-Side Sitting and Dining Room:
The formal dining table and chairs look out to the beach, and the second sleeper sofa with two swivel chairs is where you'll have the best view in the house.
Bedrooms:
Two large bedrooms with king-sized beds in both. The master bedroom has a beach view. The second bedroom is extra large with a sleeper sofa and a rocking chair and plenty of room to move around even when the sofa is opened. Top of the line, Sealy Posturepedic and Saatva Luxury Firm mattresses ensure a peaceful and comfortable sleep every night of your vacation. Comfort is priority, so no expense spared to provide the very best night's sleep possible. Extra pillows and 100% cotton linens for both bedrooms and the bathroom are always available.
Bathrooms:
One indoor bathroom and one outdoor half-bathroom.
The indoor is a full bathroom with a tub-shower combo. The second is a very important beach accessible half bathroom & dressing room with a toilet and shower located off the garage.
All beach and bath linens are provided, and all are 100% cotton.

Shady Palms has all the comforts of home, spacious living areas and bedrooms. It’s clean inside and wonderfully shady outside! The kitchen is stocked with cooking/dining utensils, and plenty of towels for the bathroom. Publix, Walgreens and CVS just minutes drive for groceries, etc. Cindy is the perfect host, personable and always helpful with a quick response to questions. Gulf is right out the back door and just GORGEOUS! Looking forward to our next stay!

Just back from Shady Palms and what a wonderful week we had. The house is just as pictured, better actually. The gulf is right outside the backdoor and the trees are just beautiful and it's very quiet. The sunsets are not to be missed, we were just blown away. Location is great close to everything you'll need for your vacation. Cindy was easy to work with and we loved looking at the family photos inside. We'll be back to Shady Palms it's very special.

Our family tradition is to stay on Anna Maria for the Christmas Holiday. This was the first time we rented a house and WOW!! LOVED IT!! It was wonderful to be so close to restaurants and have the choice to cook at the house too if you wanted. With all the shops, rentals near the choices are endless. There is so much to do and see all while having the privacy of a house to yourself. Beach area is always the best and the yard to hang out in was comforting. Very clean. Very organized. Cindy was very helpful and was just a quick message away if we needed anything. This is a gem and a MUST! Five starts from the Carlon Family!

Our family of four stayed for a week in June. Cindy was a pleasure to rent from. She was so helpful and hospitable and did everything to make us feel very welcome. The house and location were perfect. You are right on the beach with a beautiful shady yard to relax in out of the sun if you choose. The gulf is just footsteps away with an endless sandy beach to walk. The house is so comfortable with every thing you could possibly need right there. We cooked in a few nights and ate outside with our own private water front dining! I can’t say enough good things about Shady Palms. We can’t wait to go back and visit!

Steven T.Great home with a beautiful yard on the Gulf of Mexico
We stayed here for a week and had a great stay. This is an “Old Florida” home, not a super renovated McMansion. The House was full of charm and very clean and comfortable. There are several sitting areas and a large TV in the living room. There are great ocean views from most of the house. There were two large bedrooms each with a comfortable king bed. There is one small bathroom in the house, but it was clean and functional. There is another bathroom through the garage which is handy for coming in off the beach. The kitchen has modern appliances in good shape and was fully equipped for preparing meals. The best part of the House is the large, shaded backyard facing the beach. We ended up spending many hours here watching the water and enjoying the beautiful sunsets.The location of the house was great, a 5 minute drive from a Publix and a Walgreens, and a short walk to many great restaurants and bars. We liked being in the middle of the island and the beach is beautiful. The owner is a very nice lady who really wants to be sure your stay is great. Overall, I recommend this house and would be happy to stay again in the future.

KrisBeyond our dreams and even better than it looks!
What a beautiful beach house! The pictures do not do justice to this place. First of all it is much larger than the pictures show. There was just the two of us but I could see 4 staying very comfortably and 6 wouldn't be too cramped. There was one main restroom, but also a toilet and shower right off the garage with an outside entrance as well. There were 3 dining tables to eat plus a large table outside. There are beach views from every room (but the 2nd bedroom). It really caught our breath and stopped us in our tracks when we walked from room to room and would glance up and see the beach. At night after the sunset, (right in the backyard), you could see the colorful sky out most windows. The house was beautifully decorated and had so many seashells on display. The kitchen had everything you needed...many, many dishes and glasses, toaster, blender and coffee maker. Cindy was very easy to work with...reservations to final payment, directions and house instructions too. We had one minor glitch with WiFi and she handled it very quickly. (She answered emails quickly before arrival and responded by email, text or phone with the WiFi issue) We spent so much time on the beach. It was just steps away and so fun to set up each day but also be able to walk right back up and use the restroom, have a snack or lunch. The spot on the beach behind the house is right in the middle of two public beach accesses so people tend to stay closer to the access area and not venture to the middle.

MPGreat House, Great Sunsets, Great Host !
The house is just as pictured...""Old Florida Style" with upgrades that matter. Cindy takes great pride in preserving the history of her home and has special touches throughout. The real gem of this house is the shaded yard and short distance to the beach. We enjoyed long walks on the uncrowded beach and dinner with a sunset view in the evening. We did enjoy several of the nice restaurants in the area....but truly the fresh shrimp from Cortez Market, Pinot Grigio and sunset at Shady Palms was our favorite eatery!Cindy provided beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels....everything to make our trip hassle free. We hope to visit again soon!
