Casa Del Sol is a 5 bedroom house with an optional 6th bedroom on the waterfront end of the garage. This is a beautiful little apartment called "The Fish Room", and is available at an additional $950 for the week. Only guests registered at the main house may use this space.

Located on the desirable ocean side of Marathon , Casa Del Sol is a beautiful waterfront estate situated on a vast and very private corner lot. The interior includes a new gourmet kitchen with granite counter tops and premium dual fuel appliances. An old world charm is captured through the use of arches and stone columns. All rooms, including bedrooms and baths are large, airy, and sun drenched.
On the second floor, at either end of the house, are two master bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. Each master bedroom extends out onto beautiful covered balconies which overlook the waterfront. There is a third bedroom with king size bed as well as a fourth bedroom with two sets of bunk beds. These last two bedrooms share a full bathroom. Additionally there is a Pack and Play as well as a crib available for our guests.
On the ground floor, in addition to the chef's kitchen and dining room, there is an expansive living room with comfortable seating for all. Also on the ground floor there are private living quarters to include a bedroom with king bed, a kitchenette , a full bathroom , and a beautiful living room. This suite may be accessed from within the house or by way of a private outdoor entrance on the covered porch. There are NO stairs to climb !
The "Fish Room " offers an OPTIONAL 6th bedroom , and is detached from the house and situated on the waterfront overlooking the dock. This private space includes a bedroom with a king size bed as well as a full bathroom. The main house is only licenced for 12 guests ---- adding the "Fish Room" increases the capacity to 14 guests. The rate of the "Fish Room " for the week is $950 plus tax and cleaning { $1293.75 total } . The floors throughout the house and Fish Room are laid with a rustic travertine marble. ONLY guests registered at Casa Del Sol for the week can stay in the Fish Room.
A large brick patio and pool area on the water side overlook 250' of dock space. A covered barbecue area with built in appliances to include a DCS premium gas grill, power burner, Big Green Egg smoker, and sink are surrounded by mature landscaping. Propane gas is piped directly to the grilling area, so there is no need for propane tanks and the hassle associated with them. There are tables and chairs on the porch providing lots of space for outdoor dining. An inviting setting for family and friends of all ages.
There is ample room in our driveway to park four or five cars as well as a boat trailer. The dock is large enough for several boats and is equipped with a fish cleaning station as well as a bait freezer.
Casa del Sol is a family home and was not built or designed as a rental property, and consequently reflects the attention to details often lacking on today's rental market Casa del Sol was built and designed by D'asign Source, Marathon's premiere builder \ designer.

Casa Del Sol is a private little kingdom secluded behind it's walled entrance.The Sombrero Beach location is certainly the best in Marathon for a variety of reasons. First, the fantastic Sombrero Beach itself with its bathrooms, showers,and two volley ball courts, is only one mile away. Secondly,it is centrally located; only a short distance to supermarkets,restaurants, and shopping. Additionally, Sombrero Beach is one of the finest neighborhoods in Marathon.

About the host: For years we vacationed in the islands and Central America for holidays. We finally settled on Caye Caulker, in Belize ,where we spent many happy years. In 2000 we wanted to find a place in the US where travel would be easier and medical services better.
Marathon offered all of that yet still had the island feel. Surprisingly it also turned out to be better fishing all around than any of the other places that we had been.
Why this property? We chose this property for it's size and privacy. We have five boys and a girl and we wanted to have plenty of room for the whole family. The house needed total rennovation which was good as we were able to do just about everything that we wanted to do with it.
