Unique Benefits
The moment we walked in, we knew this place was special. The **sunlit living room** instantly felt welcoming, perfect for lazy mornings with coffee. The **private in-ground jacuzzi** was a game-changer—soaking under the stars after a long day? Yes, please!
We also loved the **spacious layout**, offering just the right mix of open areas for fun and cozy corners for unwinding. And the outdoor seating? The ideal spot to sip a drink and enjoy the warm Florida breeze.
It’s our little slice of paradise, and we can’t wait to share it with you!
Why Kids Love It
From the moment they arrive, kids light up! The huge pool and in-ground jacuzzi are always a hit—whether they're splashing around during the day or enjoying a fun night swim. Inside, there's plenty of space to spread out, play, and just be kids.
The little details make all the difference— cozy nooks for movie nights, fun-themed touches, and a layout that keeps the energy flowing. Plus, the **outdoor space is perfect for games and adventures**, so they never run out of things to do.
It's the kind of place where memories are made—where kids can laugh, explore, and have the best vacation ever!
We love how Emerald Island Resort puts you right in the heart of everything while still feeling like a peaceful retreat. Here are some of our favorite must-do activities nearby:
Sunset Walk – A Perfect Evening Out
Just a short drive away, Sunset Walk is our go-to spot for a fun, laid-back night. The outdoor shopping and dining area has an amazing vibe with live music, street performers, and some of the best eats in town. We always make a stop at Ford’s Garage for burgers or grab something sweet from River Street Sweets (trust us, the pralines are worth it!). If you're in the mood for some fun, GameTime has arcade games the whole family will love.
Theme Park Magic – Beyond Disney & Universal
Of course, Disney and Universal are top attractions, but if you want something different, we highly recommend Fun Spot America—it’s way less crowded, has classic wooden roller coasters, go-karts, and a great mix of thrill and family-friendly rides.
Old Town Kissimmee – A Retro Throwback
Just down the road, Old Town Kissimmee is a fun mix of vintage shops, carnival rides, and classic car shows. Friday and Saturday nights, they host car cruises with beautifully restored classics—perfect for a nostalgic stroll.
Airboat Rides & Wildlife at Boggy Creek
If you’re up for an adventure, a Boggy Creek airboat ride is an absolute must. Gliding through the Everglades and spotting gators, bald eagles, and other Florida wildlife is something you won’t forget. The sunset rides? Incredible.
Water Parks & Lazy Days
If you're looking for a water-filled day that’s NOT at a theme park, check out Island H2O Water Park—tons of slides, a wave pool, and a lazy river to cool off. For something more relaxed, Lake Tohopekaliga (Lake Toho) is a great spot for fishing, picnicking, or just soaking in some quiet time.
️ Our Favorite Hidden Gem for Food
For something off the beaten path, we love The Catfish Place in St. Cloud. It’s been around forever, serving amazing fried catfish, gator tail, and hush puppies. A real local favorite!
Emerald Island Resort puts you close to everything while still giving you a private escape. Whether you’re exploring theme parks, enjoying Sunset Walk, or finding hidden gems, there’s always something to do nearby!
One of the things we love most about Emerald Island Resort is how it feels like a true escape. Unlike newer resorts, this gated community is beautifully landscaped with **mature trees, winding sidewalks, and lush greenery**, making it perfect for a relaxing stroll. Whether you're out for a morning walk with coffee in hand or taking an evening stroll under the Florida sunset, the peaceful setting makes it feel like a world away from the hustle and bustle.
It’s a rare find in Kissimmee—where you can enjoy shaded paths, quiet streets, and a real sense of community, all while being just minutes from the excitement of Disney and local attractions.
One of the best things about staying at Emerald Island Resort is how many great restaurants are just a short drive away. Whether you're craving steak, tacos, pizza, or something sweet, there’s something for everyone! Here are some of our favorite spots:
Rolling Oaks Target Plaza (10 min away)
This area is perfect for a quick meal after shopping. Some standouts include:
Bahama Breeze – Caribbean flavors with delicious coconut shrimp and jerk chicken.
Olive Garden – If you're in the mood for endless breadsticks and comforting Italian dishes.
On the Border – Great spot for fajitas, chips & queso, and strong margaritas.
Flippers Pizzeria – A local favorite for fresh, handcrafted pizzas.
Longhorn Steakhouse – Solid choice for steaks and loaded baked potatoes.
Sunset Walk at Margaritaville (10 min away)
This lively area has live music on weekends, making it a great place to grab dinner and soak in the atmosphere. Some favorites here:
Ford’s Garage – A fun, vintage car-themed spot with killer burgers and craft beer.
Estefan Kitchen – Cuban-inspired dishes with a lively Latin music vibe. Try the lechón asado!
BR77 Brazilian Steakhouse – If you love all-you-can-eat meats, this is the place to be.
Island Wing Company – Great wings, but also has baked (not fried!) options if you're feeling a little healthier.
El Jefe Tequilas Taco Bar – Tacos, tequila, and a fun atmosphere—it’s a must for Mexican food lovers.
Bahama Buck’s – Shaved ice heaven! The perfect cool-down treat for a hot Florida day.
Hidden Gem for Comfort Food
Cowboy Chicken – Wood-fired rotisserie chicken with a Southern twist. Their chicken and loaded baked sweet potato is a must-try.
Dinner & Entertainment
Studio Movie Grill – If you want dinner and a movie, this place serves full meals and cocktails right to your recliner seat while you watch.
GameTime – Perfect for families! Kids play arcade games while you enjoy casual bar food and drinks.
With so many great options just minutes away, you’ll never run out of places to eat. Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a fun night out, there’s something for every craving near Emerald Island Resort! ️
Want to experience Kissimmee like a local? Here are some hidden gems and pro tips to make your stay even better!
Best Times to Shop & Avoid Crowds
Walmart on Old Lake Wilson Road gets super crowded in the evenings—go early in the morning or late at night for a stress-free trip.
Publix on E Orange Lake Blvd is usually less hectic than Walmart and has great fresh subs (locals swear by the “Pub Sub” with chicken tenders!).
Target at Rolling Oaks is your best bet for a quick, easy shopping run.
️ Where to Eat Like a Local
Flippers Pizzeria (Rolling Oaks) – Locals love it for its brick-oven, handcrafted pizzas that beat the big chains.
Ford’s Garage (Sunset Walk) – Best spot for burgers and craft beer, and the fun vintage car theme makes it a cool experience.
The Catfish Place (St. Cloud) – A true local favorite for fried catfish, hush puppies, and gator tail if you’re up for trying something different.
Best Places to Catch a Sunset
Sunset Walk at Margaritaville – The name says it all! Live music and car shows every weekend make this the perfect place to grab a drink and enjoy the vibe.
Lake Toho (Tohopekaliga) – A peaceful, scenic spot that locals love for fishing and watching wildlife as the sun sets over the water.
Best Non-Touristy Things to Do
Boggy Creek Airboat Rides – Skip the tourist-packed gator parks and see real Florida wildlife on a high-speed airboat through the Everglades.
Old Town Kissimmee Car Shows – Every Friday and Saturday night, classic cars cruise through this vintage-style town square.
Celebration, FL – A charming, Disney-designed town with beautiful walking trails, lakes, and great cafes—perfect for a relaxing afternoon.
Theme Park Hacks
Disney Fireworks Without the Crowds – Catch them for free from the Disney’s Polynesian Resort beach or the top of the parking garage at Disney Springs.
Cheaper Parking for Disney – Park at Disney Springs for free, then take a resort bus to the parks.
Universal’s Secret Entrance – Instead of using the main entrance, go through the entrance near Hard Rock Cafe for a shorter security line.
With these local tips, you’ll experience the best of Kissimmee without the typical tourist headaches!

Best Vacation Home
Renting this beautiful house was a breeze!! We were very happy that after checking out at least a dozen houses, we all agreed on this one!! We wanted a big house with lots of bedrooms/bathrooms! We got more than that!!The house is one of the most beautiful house we have rented!! The pool has a spa/hot tub on the side!! We were very satisfied and want to return soon! The best part of this house was the owner. He answered every email I sent him within minutes! That meant a lot to us ! The rental fees were better than most ! If you have a large group you will love this house! Kudos to owner.
