Why Kids Love It
Kids love it here as the pool is always at the right temperature and there are many thing so for them to see or do in the immediate area.
We have more canals in Cape Coral than Venice, Italy. You can bring your own boat or rent a boat and explore the area by water. Many restaurants and sights to see while enjoying the manatee and dolphins in the area.
We also offer golf courses close by as well as many spots and beaches to entertain your children.
Fort Myers is only about 5 minutes from our home which offers many shopping opportunities as well as theatre, mini golf, etc. etc.
A Few Ideas Of Things To Do In Cape Coral
FAVOURITE RESTAURANTS
1. Twisted Lobster
2. Dixie Fish Company (on a wharf, not fancy but very good food and you get to watch the boats coming and going)
3. Rumrunners (fancy but on the water, dress is still casual as it is everywhere in Cape Coral/Ft. Myers. This is one of my go to places.
4. Nauti Mermaid Dockside Bar & Grill
5. Pinchers - There is one in Cape Coral and one in Ft. Myers Both are very good and another go to for me.
6. Miceli's Restaurant - Always has music. Its in Matlacha which is only about a 20 minute ride. Matlacha feels like Key West. A great day trip also. Lots of little shops from local artists etc. I think you would like that for sure. Several little restaurants as well and there is a fishery if you want to pick up fresh fish and take it back to cook yourself.
7. Cork Soakers Deck & Wine Bar, Downtown Cape Coral. Order their full Caesars. You won't need lunch.
If you just google all of the restaurant names you will come up with the addresses.
We have so many but these are a few of our fav's.
DAY TRIPS
1. Wicked Dolphin Rum Distillery - They show you how the rum is made and then you get to test it at the end. There is a store there as well if you like what you taste.
2. Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve - I've heard its amazing but we have not done that one yet.
3. Manatee Eco-Tours in Naples which is about an hour away.
4. Key West Express - You get on the ferry at Ft. Myers Beach and you can go down and back in one day.
5. Fishermen's Village in Punta Gorda - Lots of little shops on a wharf and a great, fun restaurant at the end of the wharf. About an hour away from the house.
6. Air boat rides in Alligator Alley. That is about a two hour ride but so back to nature. On Hwy. 41 once you enter Alligator Alley you will beable to spot alligators in the ditches that run along side the road. The air boat rides are always fun and gives you lot of information about the area.
There are dolphin tours in the area as well. Sometimes you will see them in our canal. I hope you will be lucky enough to spot them.
We have several beaches near by that you might enjoy. We have a small beach right in Cape Coral with a restaurant on site so you can sit and enjoy a beverage and watch the sunset. It is more of a family beach. We enjoy taking our grandkids there. It is about 10 minutes from our home.
Then we have the famous Fort Myers Beach which has several restaurants along the beach. It is miles and miles of white sandy beach to walk, or just to lay back and tan. Great dolphin watching area as well. That beach is only about 20 minutes from our home.
Then we have a 2 hour drive north to Sarasota which also boasts a beautiful beach. I have to be honest about that one though I've only heard how beautiful it is and have not been there myself.
I'm sure you will find everything you are looking for. We are a bedroom community so it's quieter than being in Naples or Ft. Myers but within driving distance to anything you might want to do.
I really hope you enjoy yourselves and relax!!!!

Five Stars, Plus More!
What a wonderful vacation rental! The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything we needed. Of particular note was the kitchen ─ even with the selection of great restaurants nearby, we enjoyed preparing delicious meals in the inviting and fully outfitted kitchen. The screened-in lanai with pool was where we spent most of our time enjoying the sun and beautiful sunsets.Five stars doesn't seem like enough stars!
