This spacious 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom single-family vacation home, that we lovingly call the SEAHORSE, is great for entertaining! The open living and kitchen/dining area allow your family to gather without being crowded. It’s 80’ of dock space is perfectly situated on the 63rd Street canal with direct quick access to the Atlantic Ocean, perfect for the avid fisherman.
This tastefully decorated home has a master bedroom with Queen size bed, large closet and en suite bath with double sinks, tub and separate shower. The second bedroom has a queen size bed with ample closet space. The third bedroom has 2 twin size beds and nice size closet. Second bathroom has a shower. Pull-out couch in living room. Pack-n-Play and highchair are available for the little ones.
The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking essentials. Modern stainless-steel appliances and marble countertops with plenty of room to prep. We provide dishes, pots and pans, baking sheets, muffin tin, toaster, blender, crock pot, hand mixer, coffee maker, tools for BBQ. There are playing cards and puzzles.
There is 1 Smart TV in the living room (bring your account passwords), free WIFI, A/C, heat, washer and dryer. There is plenty of parking on both sides and in front of the house for up to four (4) vehicles and two (2) trailers. There are 4 adult and 2 children's life jackets for use on the paddle boards and kayaks.
The dock has 80' available for guest use. We recommend no more than a 28' boat in the canal. Dock can accommodate 2 boats if they are the right size. They cannot be rafted side by side when tied to the dock. Fish cleaning station and water is available. We have a shallow channel coming in, but plenty of room at low tide for boats this size. If you have additional questions, please reach out before booking. A map of the canal will be emailed to you.
There’s a wraparound balcony off the kitchen/dining room area where you can watch the sun rise and enjoy your morning coffee with a limited view of the ocean.
The outside living space has lots of room to relax, outdoor furniture, gas grill and bait freezer. 2 paddle boards, 2 one-person kayaks, and life vests.
Linens, indoor use towels and beach towels are provided.
Things to Note:
Rental Period - Seven night minimum booking due to ordinance requirements in Marathon.
Maximum Occupancy - 8 people including children. You must be 25 or older to rent. (25 year old must be present during entire stay).
Check-in – after 4:00 pm
Check-out – by 9:30 am
Smoking – NO SMOKING, including vaping, inside this home at any time.
Last Minute Specials - if we are offering a special last minute, we do not apply the special rates to advance bookings made when the special was not offered.
Parking - The property has plenty of parking that can accommodate your boat trailers and up to 4 vehicles. Two boats/trailers maximum parking. Note that 63rd Street is narrow and a dead end and there is no turn-around at the end. There is plenty of room on our property to get your boat turned around.
Pets – Dogs (2 maximum) considered with Pet Fee and prior approval. Please confirm before booking if you have questions.
Nature - This home is located in a canal, and natures seasonal trade winds may push surface grass into the canal at the dock and waters edge from time to time. This uncontrolled occurrence being somewhat “seasonal” by the spring trade winds, may result in the grass having an odor as it dissipates.
While we do not currently have a pool there area couple of nearby establishments that allow use of their pool by the general public. These include Sunset Grille & Raw Bar and Skipjack Resort & Marina. Contact them for details.
Area Information
Marathon is centrally located in the Florida Keys ~ just an hour from Key West, 40 minutes from Islamorada. There are endless activities to enjoy ~ from laying on the beach to offshore fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, parasailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, biking and more. Local attractions such as The Turtle Hospital, Aquarium Encounters, Dolphin Research Center, Pigeon Key, and many state parks are close by as well, including the world-famous Bahia Honda State Park! Marathon is also home to incredible bars and restaurants.

Down payment: 50% of base rate to book; remaining balance due 60 days prior except for damage deposit which is due 10 days prior. If you book inside of 60 days, entire balance is due at booking other than the damage deposit which is due 10 days prior.

About the host: Kevin and Karen McQuoid hail from Minnesota and started visiting the Keys in 2019. We fell in love and bought our first home in 2019. We sold our MN resort in 2021 and have relocated to Marathon. We purchased this home in 2021 so we could share our joy of the Keys.
Why this property? It's near our primary residence and the large lot and extensive dock space is what captured our eye. The outdoor space is fantastic and we love watching the manatees and wildlife that visit us.
