Relax & enjoy yourself in this spacious 2 BR/2 bath condo w/2 screened lanais to unwind and enjoy your morning coffee or the unobstructed views of the gulf and it’s gorgeous sunsets. Little Gasparilla Island is a special, magical barrier island on Florida’s southwest Gulf of Mexico. There are no cars, no lines, no crowds. You'll have the beach mostly to yourself. Mainland parking and Ferry are included at no extra cost.

Pack light because just about everything you could imagine is already here and we have an in-unit washer and dryer! Two private bedrooms with queen sized beds and all premium pillows, linens, duvets, blankets and bath towels. The unit features two full bathrooms, one with tub and shower and the other with a shower.

Completely Remodeled in 2024 – with new furniture, all new kitchen and bedrooms. The new kitchen includes all new cabinetry, counters with bar style seating, bright lighting, and is fully equipped for everything from gourmet cooking to making summer bites for the beach. The living room has a comfortable premium sleeper sofa and recliner chair as well as other seating and a 55” smart TV. The 8 foot and 5 foot glass doors provide spectacular unobstructed views of the dunes and gulf. Fully set up with free high speed wifi to connect to your favorite streaming services, phone and computers. There is also a desk with a printer if you need to connect your computer for remote work.

Located on secluded Little Gasparilla Island, where you can drift back in time to old Florida where the pace of life is relaxed and friendly. Little Gasparilla Island is a 2 mile long unspoiled sandy beach paradise on Florida's South Gulf coast. The area's natural beauty has been safeguarded, providing a natural haven for a stunning array of animals unique to this area; from dolphin, manatee, osprey, pelican and eagle to shrimp, snook and redfish.

The sub-tropical climate allows for year-round strolling of the beach searching for shells and fossilized shark teeth and wandering the sandy paths that pass all around the island. It's truly addicting! You can enjoy surf fishing from the beach or casting off or boating from the private pier. (Yes, we have fishing rods and tackle available for your use.)

The condo property itself is not large but offers a heated pool right next our unit, beautifully landscaped grounds, free parking and ferry from the mainland, boat slips and a private, uncrowded beach on the gulf. The boardwalk over the natural dunes begins just steps from the unit. Just a few steps from the door and you are on the Gulf of Mexico beach!

This is more than just a family friendly destination! Most families rebook year after year because there is just nothing like this anywhere in the world. Everything we have is free for your families use including just about everything you could want for the beach or pool, including chairs, towels, paddle board, snorkel equipment, masks, children’s toys, games, canopies, umbrellas…and a wagon to bring everything back and forth. There are cards, board games, puzzles and books in the unit and well as open spaces for outdoor play. We also keep a supply of charcoal and lighter fluid for the outdoor grill.

The hourly ferry and parking are free, so a 10 minute ride to the mainland connects you with groceries, fantastic waterfront restaurants, shopping and other adventures. There is a large, fully equipped grocery store just a mile up the road with a wine/liquor store next door so shopping is also easy. Several tiki bars and other local favorites are just up the road as well. If you prefer, there are provisioning services that can do your grocery shopping for you and deliver right to the condo on the day you arrive for a small fee.

If you are a boater, you can rent a slip at our pier and take your adventure up and down the Intercoastal Waterway or out on the gulf for sightseeing, swimming, sunning, fishing and other exploring. Bring your own boat (maximum 22 feet) or rent one from a number of vendors locally. There are also a wide variety of charters available for fishing for those trophies!

The Condominium Association restricts renters from bringing pets, and limits numbers in our unit to 6 guests, with a maximum of 4 adults. While you can rent a golf cart on the island, we are not permitted to drive or keep them on the condo property overnight.

All bedrooms and the living room have ceiling fans to move air quietly, keeping you cool along with the smart thermostat letting you keep the inside climate perfect for your needs. There is an Amazon Echo Dot Smart Speaker that can play your favorite music or perform other tasks.

Long term renters are welcome to invite friends for day visits or overnight provided they stay within the 4 adult maximum. Also there is a restriction on events by renters so large parties are not allowed. All guests need to registered with the office in order to give them access to the free parking and ferry.

We are new owners and only put this up for rent in February of 2024, so we understand there are limited reviews. All have been 5-Star so far and we guarantee your experience will also be 5-Star! We have an experienced local property manager are we are very responsive to your needs and concerns.

Unique Benefits

Privacy and seclusion are among the key benefits of Little Gasparilla Island. There are really no cars or businesses on the island. No bridges, and no roads. Just beaches and sand paths to explore the island. We have everything you'll need at the beach - chairs, towels, toys, snorkels, masks, umbrellas, canopies and a paddleboard. The unit is fully equipped. You'll need to bring food and clothing. But pack light! The in unit washer and dryer mean you'll only need to pack a small bag. All the linens and towels are stocked up. Necessities like toilet paper, paper towels, soaps etc are already there.

Why Kids Love It

It's a very safe place for kids! The beaches are made for fun and all the beach toys for kids are already there. Our heated pool makes for a fun time in winter months when the gulf is a little chilly.

Area Information

Little. Gasparilla Island is a gulf-side barrier paradise with no bridges, no roads, no cars, no crowds lines. Accessible only by boat! Our free ferry runs all day to accommodate your mainland needs for shopping or off island dining. Many refer to the area as "Old Florida" because of the relaxing environment and easy pace. It's A Shore Thing has a private boardwalk to the beach. Our beach is spectacular not only because it is so quiet but has among the best shelling you'll find anywhere.

The fishing from the beach and pier are great but we are in the center of some of Florida's best sport fishing if you hire a charter or have your own boat. There are world class restaurants in the area especially just a few miles away in Boca Grande.

Mainland parking and ferry are free so it's easy to get out and about for shopping and other attractions.

Favorite Places To Eat

There are no commercial businesses on the island but with a free ferry, there are easily accessible favorite places within a few miles. Smoking Jerrys restaurant and Tiki Bar is nearby as are Cool Pickle In Paradise, Rum Bay on Pine Island, Oyster Bar, Ken and Barbs Grove City Kitchen. These are just a few - there are many choices and more and more opening back up after Hurricane Ian every day.

About the host: Jeff and Julie Live in Ohio. We bought It's A Shore Thing in March of 2023 after the building sustained damage from Hurricane Ian in September 2023. Renovations took place through out 2023 and through January 2024. Our first renters came in February '24 and have offered rave reviews. This is truly a special place and we fell in love with the location and the Islanders we have met. Everyone is friendly and welcoming.

Why this property? We visited the island for the first time in 2022 and saw the hurricane damage but the islanders we met were not discouraged. We really had no plans to buy at the time but the seed was planted. Every walk to the beach has made the place feel like it was just for us. Rarely did we go to the beach to watch a sunset where there were others there. The property is so well maintained, and even with the foliage damage from the hurricane, so mush has already come back. It's truly beautiful.

One of the huge advantages of It's A Shore Thing is the free parking on the main land and free ferry to and from the island. There are other island properties you can rent, but none have free parking and most require a private boat or water taxi to go to and from.

This island is a paradise and fun to explore. Walk the beach and check out the shells. Busy beaches have crowds - ours is much more secluded and the shells are pristine. Hunt for sand dollars and sharks teeth. Explore the paths that wander around the island. Watch manatee, dolphin, eagles, ospreys, pelicans and a wide array of other wildlife. You can even rent a golf cart. But there are no cars and no bridges so there is no traffic, no crowds.

One other great thing about the island is the wonderful friends you will make among other renters and residents. Everyone is so friendly and helpful and willing to offer recommendations or share something you may be missing. You will feel like this is a you own second home.

An outstanding beach condo

The condo is beautiful and very well-appointed. Really had everything we needed - even beach chairs and sand toys. The view is breathtaking - it's a corner unit overlooking the beach and the Gulf, with a screened-in patio to enjoy the sunset and watch all the beach activities. Very quiet - didn't hear anything from adjoining units. Easy access to the rest of Fort Myers Beach and Lover's Key State Park. I can't wait to go back!
