The area is also a wildlife sanctuary and home to the Ding Darling Wildlife Management Area. Visitors come to observe rich abundance of wildlife in its natural habitat. Fishing is another big attraction here, whether from shore or the famous Sanibel Pier, or with a guided charter for inshore gamefish like snook, trout, tarpon and redfish.
