Welcome to Peace River House. Located 8 minutes from Punta Gorda Airport and I75. We reside in a quiet neighborhood in which the Peace River is across the street and the Darst Boat Ramp is around the corner. The villa has it's own private entrance, patio, and access to the grilling area. It is a two story building with steps leading to the upstairs bedroom and large bathroom. We provide all essentials from lip balm to a bottle of wine. As on-site owners, we are here to answer any questions and help with special requests. We have 4 friendly Boston terriers . (or should i say, they have us).
Downtown Punta Gorda is 2 miles away. This is a gem of town and was restored and revived after Hurricane Charley. It's a quaint little town built on Charlotte Harbor. Fast becoming a dining and event destination, the Saturday's Farmers Market is rated one of the best in SW Florida. The bicycle trails around the harbor and the historic district are part of a much larger set of trails throughout Florida. Free bicycle rentals are available at Fisherman's Village. Sit at one of the "Village's restaurants and enjoy the water views and live music. Captain Alan Williams is available for fishing charters and nature tours on the Peace River. Please inquire for rates.
Unique Benefits
We love it here! The main house has a large front porch where we like to enjoy coffee in the morning or sit out and watch the red headed woodpeckers on the traveler palms in the front yard. We are on about 1 acre of land. Our dogs have their own dog park. Lots of wild life to see...Ospreys, Eagles, Egrets, and sometimes a gator across the street.
If you have a fishing rod, you can cast it, and most likely hook a snook, or trout. We can see the stars at night and the moon glowing through the pines.

If you want to teach your kid to fish and enjoy nature, this is the place. No texting on the boat, kids! Enjoy the beauty that this town has to offer.
Area Information

Just a bit of trivia...Jimmy Buffet wrote the song, Cheeseburger in Paradise inspired by his visit to Cabbage Key and it's delicious hamburgers.
Punta Gorda is the ice cream capital of the world. We recommend Zoet where there really is home made ice cream and bakery items.
Attractions Within Walking Distance
We are in a rural neighborhood but only 2 miles from downtown Punta Gorda. If you love to walk, there is the Alligator Rum Distillery. Sample the rum and see how it is made. The Darst Boat Ramp is right around the corner for you sunset viewing pleasure.

Fisherman's Village is a very popular shopping and dining venue. Lots to do and see. It has become a dining destination as well as Pickleball Central. If you are renting, I will send you the Punta Gorda Chamber's magazine so you know about our small town and it's upcoming events. We do have a small beach here at Ponce Park but it is on the harbor. There are plenty of outside events, concerts, art shows starting in October and the list goes on \We love it here and hope you will too. We will do everything to make your stay enjoyable and go out of our way to provide the comforts of home.

About the host: We are a semi retired couple who live in the main house. Alan works for the Kingfisher Fleet on the cruises and is an inshore/offshore fishing guide. He is available for private charters on his boat as well. Andrea is retired and does volunteer work with Boston Terrier Rescue of Florida. She is also a jewelry designer, potter and quilter with Gallery representation. Her interior design education has really showed well as you can see from the vacation rental. We moved from the Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood area where we lived for over 30 years. It was time for a change. We live with 2 Boston Terriers.
Alan grew up in Dothan, Alabama and Andrea grew up in Philadelphia, Pa. The north meets the south! We have enjoyed every one of our guests and always look forward to repeat guests.
Why this property? We looked for nearly six months until we came across this property. Once we saw it, the vacation rental vision appeared. It took 6 months to prepare the villa. Now that it is completed, we are working on the main house. Always something to do and the "one room at a time" work has kicked in. The property is situated on an acre. The villa is about 1550 square feet. The location is far enough away to be quiet and close enough to town. We are about 2 miles from the Punta Gorda Airport. This neighborhood is a hidden gem....shhhhh, let's keep it a secret.

Peace River House is exactly what we were looking for to be able to spend a month in Punta Gorda. The hosts are great people. The Villa is exactly as described with a comfortable accommodation in a quiet neighborhood. The neighborhood is especially nice for daily walks. The location is great with access to many restaurant and entertainment features that are available in Punta Gorda and surrounding SW Florida.We enjoyed every day of our stay at Peace River House. Peace River House is so much more than I was expecting! Such a lovely place and exactly what I was looking for. The villa is in a safe, quiet neighborhood where I walked my dog daily and even met some of the neighbors! We went down to the river access "park" nearly every morning and a few evenings to watch the spectacular sunset. Fabulous beaches are less than an hour's drive (the state parks were awesome!) and be sure to hit the Saturday Farmer's Market in downtown Punta Gorda if you are able! Peace River Gardens just up the road was wonderful too. But the best part of my stay was meeting my fabulous hosts and new friends, Andie and Alan. They are wonderful people and made me feel so welcome as soon as I arrived! The rental unit had everything I needed and my dog immediately made herself at home! If you are looking for a peaceful, low key place to stay while in Florida this is it!

Peace River House was more than I could have hoped for! The location was perfect for the quiet, low key getaway I was seeking. It's in a neighborhood (as opposed to a more "tourist centric" setting) so I was able to walk my dog on quiet streets and even meet some of the neighbors! The river boat launch is just a short walk down the road and so peaceful in the mornings; the sunset there is awesome! Great beaches less than an hour drive (check out the nearby state parks!) and the town of Punta Gorda is just a few minutes drive. Saturday Farmer's Market shouldn't be missed and the Peace River Gardens just up the road were fantastic! But the best part was meeting my hosts and new friends Andie and Alan! I can't say enough about how wonderful their hospitality is! Andie's beautiful decorating and wonderful warm touches in the rental unit made me feel quite at home as soon as I arrived. All of my needs (and my best girl dog Penny's needs!) were more than met. I am so looking forward to my next trip to spend time at Peace River House.

The Peace River House is charming, comfortable, it has everything you might need or want, well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, large awesome bathroom and feels like a loved home, wonderfully decorated. It's set in a wonderful private residential and park setting with royal palms and looking out either side from the living room which is a wall of glass and french doors there's a patio to sit around a pit fire to enjoy the peaceful setting. Only five minutes to downtown great restaurants and music and beach. The hosts are lovely, welcoming and always available. Al and Andie were the best hosts. Andie became my instant best friend and showing me all the great places to see and eat and listen to great music. I can't say enough and wish to comeback soon.

Peace River House is well managed and perfect for us. We love peace, wildlife, and our pug dog Harold. This haven has it all. We love the park like setting with Royal palms, orchids, and outdoor setting with a firepit to roast marshmallows and seeing stars at night. Plenty of good places to eat nearby if you don't want to cook at home, which you can do in the well equipped kitchenet Several places of great interest for everyone close at hand. Tranquillity in a like new comfortable and cozy home. Lots of orchids and a beautiful blue bench just outside the door. Private parking in a quite and safe residential area. It is easy to forget this isn't your permanent home (I sure wish it was!)

I can't say enough good things about our stay. We stayed the entire month of March and then some and had a wonderful time. Andie and Alan were delightful hosts; we enjoyed a lovely evening with them and I even spent a fun afternoon with Andie while she learned her talents to help me in creating a beautiful piece of jewelry. We enjoyed regular visits from 2 of their two dogs, which our dog enjoyed as well. The home was very tastefully decorated and functional and it truly felt like a home away from home. We enjoyed frequent fires in the fire pit and use of the outdoor grill. The property is very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed it so much we plan to come back next year. Thanks Andie and Alan.

The only thing nicer than the house is the owner and hosts Andi and Alan. Charming place with top of the line design and construction and finishes. the view from the bedroom each morning was of constantly changing fauna; rabbits, egrets, and butterflies from Ani's butterfly garden. It is as peaceful as it could possibly be. a wonderful place to recharge your battery. The only regret we had was that we could not stay longer, which was not the problem with PRH, but just a schedule issue. Last year we stayed at four airbnb's in Europe, all run very well, but Peace River House takes the cake for decor and the personal service which makes you feel at home. Love the house, the town, and mostly Andi and Alan.

Andrea and Al were wonderful hosts! The Peace River House was a great find for us! It was cozy, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay in Punta Gorda! It was located in a quiet neighborhood which we really enjoyed! It was so close to everything we wanted to do in the city - ride our bikes on the Harbor Walk, take in all the music at all the great bars and restaurants, and check out the farmers markets and the Seafood Fest! The outside patio was a great place to read, chat with Andrea, and hang out with the dogs when they were out.

A beautiful gem in a quiet neighborhood. Andi & Alan are very accommodating and full of suggestions about events happening in the area. The apartment is spacious enough for a long term rental and decorated tastefully. It has a lot of extras to welcome you, including a happy trio of Boston terriers. A couple of outdoor seating areas are perfect for soaking up Florida sunshine and bird watching. It truly is a lovely spot.

This little gem is in a quiet back water nestled amongst trees (Floridian jungle) along with a few neighbouring houses. Just three miles from typically Floridian - Punta Gorda! Peace River is within walking distance. If you want 'Home from Home" and genuine hospitality this is the retreat for you.The hosts could not have been more welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The condo was well equipped with everything one needed including a bottle of wine and snacks to welcome us. Comfy bed and gorgeous bathroom. I admit the Aircon was noisy but this is to be replaced. A separate driveway to the condo is on the plans and although this didn't detract from our enjoyable stay it will improve several issues. i.e. parking for the owners when their rental is occupied and easier access for the visitor. It didn't bother us though. Lots of quaint shops locally plus the usual supermarkets a few miles away BUT if you're a serious shopper there's Port Charlotte shopping centre just over the River. The beach at Ponce de Leon reserve is only 4 miles away and worth a visit if only to walk thru the reserve on the boardwalk - or visit the Wild bird rescue centre. You may be lucky enough to see a Manatee or Dolphins. Thank you to Andi and Alan - just wish we'd book for longer.
