About the owner: I grew up in Louisville Kentucky and Southern Indiana. I grew to love Florida as a child while visiting my grandparents on summer breaks. In 1980, I discovered the beautiful Englewood area when my mother moved to the area. After many years of vacationing in the area, I decided to buy an early retirement home in 2003.
After living in the subdivision Rotonda West since 2003, I decided that Old Englewood Village would suit my lifestyle better.
In 2010, I bought the property, renovated it and started my seasonal rental business. I loved it so much that in 2015, I bought a third property to add to my business.
I love meeting people from all over the world. I enjoy sharing my paradise and helping others discover this beautiful area, which I feel is truly a hidden gem.
Why this property? One of the many great features of this property is the setting on a large corner lot that truly feels like an oasis in the heart of Old Englewood Village. The birds will sing you a welcoming tune every time you arrive.
You'll enjoy being within an easy walk or bike ride to the Farmer's Market, the great art festivals and art studios, the restaurants, Lemon Bay Playhouse Theater and the wonderful food and music at Englewood's on Dearborn, Mango Grill, Moose Lodge, Snooks, just to name a few.
But the very best feature is the cozy, comfy feeling of each bungalow. The units have a real home away from home atmosphere.

A Hidden Gem to Dive Into
Satisfaction begins with Julie’s responsiveness and continues with her personal care to details. The bungalows are exactly as portrayed on the website but the old Florida charm has to be experienced. This is not your swimming pool, on the beach, resort style accommodations. It is much more. It is moss covered trees, and enclosed lanies, and pleasant walks in a quiet neighborhood, and quick trips to Old Dearborn Street with its weekly market and coffee shops and music and special events. Many don’t review how special the Cove is because they don’t want others to discover it...we’re booked for next year but check it out anyhow. You’ll be glad you did.

Secret Gem !
I would love to keep Mermaids Cove a secret but that would be selfish. I spent a month here and absolutely loved the old Englewood charm of it all. The accommodations were spotless and the vibe was all Jimmy Buffet. I’m am booked for next year already and can’t wait! Julie and Michael are fabulous hosts!
