Our Scalloping Season is pretty phenomenal, very unique in that we tend to have very clear warm water, usually do well in 3ft to 5ft water and often make limits once the season gets into full swing, I recommend hiring a guide as they know where the best grounds are.
Spring and Fall are great times to fish the Gulf for Redfish and Trout, Mid summer we see more Spanish Mackerel and big Jack Crevalle. With the Right Guide you may even get on some of the lunker Snook that hide in the backwaters!
Swimming with the manatee is a blast, park and walk in at hunter springs, bring your snorkel and enjoy the water wildlife on a warm day.

About the host: Ron and Isabelle Hipner:
We raised our two children in San Diego California where Ron ran a commercial contracting company and Isabelle managed food services for Coronado Middle School.
Upon retiring we decided to move closer to Family in Citrus Springs FL and enjoy a quieter lifestyle. We invested in multiple single family homes to provide clean quality vacation homes for travelers wanting to get away from the cold weather and the hustle and bustle of the city.
Our Guests love this home and we are thrilled that we meet their expectations.
Why this property? A friend invited Us in to see the owners wallpaper and the owner shared they were looking to sell, after going over the details we purchased the home, it was definitely the right place at the right time.
We were able to purchase the lot next to it and the two lots directly behind the home ensuring it would keep that cozy wooded feel. Quiet, relaxing, close to the Citrus Springs Golf course and within biking distance of our State biking trail.

Relaxing views of woodland from all windows
We enjoyed our stay and the view of yellow glow through the trees as the sun rose. We saw a racoon cross the patio and the resident turtle emerge from his hole to sun himself and feed on the grass. All the comforts in this good quality home in a quiet neighborhood are as specified. The landlords are friendly and attentive when needed.Fans of Elvis will find a statue of him in nearby Yankeetown where Follow that Dream was filmed. Crystal River' Fort Island fishing pier has a picnic area on a boardwalk, and sightings of manatees feeding just off the end of the pier. Manatees can be seen more clearly in captivity at Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park.North of Dunellon on Rt 41, past Winn Dixie, is Rainbow Springs State Park with short woodland walks and pretty views of the Rainbow River. Best of all is the swimming in the clear spring head waters. In an ideal world we would return here some day.

"The perfect home away from home."
This was our home for 6 months when we relocated to FL. The house had everything we needed including a washer and dryer. The kitchen was fully equipped so you had all the kitchen tools to cook and bake. The monthly rent included all the utilities, cable TV, phone and Internet so you didn't have to establish these services on your own. The owner was very accommodating. If we needed anything they were just a phone call away, and they responded quickly to our phone call. You will enjoy this house in it's peaceful and private setting. :~)) JS

This house located in Citrus Springs, Florida is even better than the pictures show.
Citrus Springs is a somewhat undiscovered community located on the western side of central Florida. The house is located on a quiet street with undeveloped property behind it and on both sides. The city of Dunnellon is 10 minutes to the north and Inverness is 25 minutes to the south. Golf courses (my primary interest) are abundant in the area with Citrus Springs Country Club literally 2 minutes from the house. They even offer a 3 month membership for us snowbirds. It was easy to meet fellow golfers, and I was even able to join leagues for competitive golfing. There are also many hike and bike trails in the general area with one of them running right through Citrus Springs. The Crystal River area, known for it’s manatees, is located about 20 minutes to the west, and Homosassa Park is located about 35 minutes to the southwest. Another popular area is Rainbow Springs just outside of Dunnellon. Of course Orlando, with Disney World and all of the other attractions, is only about 1 1/2 hours to the southeast. The house itself is very well maintained, has all of the expected appliances, dinnerware, cooking utensils, etc. The 2 bedrooms and the 2 bathrooms are nice sized, and the bed was very comfortable. The water pressure in the 2 showers was great. The air conditioning and the heat (yes, it can get chilly in central Florida) worked great. The house has an attached 2 car garage which included 3 bicycles, the washer and dryer, and a nice grill. Prices are still very reasonable in this part of Florida, and this house would make a great rental anytime of the year.

Mrs
We wanted to try an extended stay to see if it was something we were really interested in. We fell in love with the area and our accommodations and will definitely be looking for more of the same next year. It was close enough to our friends and relatives that we were able to see everybody and we were rural enough we felt right at home!
