Perfect Paradise
Barrier Dunes is a perfect empty nesters paradise! The units are conveniently located near the gorgeous, sandy Cape San Blas beach with miles of sand to walk on. Some of the most spectacular sunsets are just a short walk from your rental unit. You will find dolphins in the gulf waters - an assortment of salt water fish to make any fisherman smile and an array of shorebirds to entertain you. The shelling is the perfect start to any day on CSB. Local dining offers an assortment of seafood, pork or beef. All are excellent island favorites. Trails to bike on and a national park to hike through is great for any outdoor enthusiast. The rental unit was decorated in a coastal theme that was so inviting! The beds were comfy. Washer and dryer on site made travel easy with having less to pack. Kitchen well stocked for any baker or cook that chose to stay in and dine right on the deck. Safe neighborhood and friendly neighbors from around the country made Barrier Dunes our number one choice for our winter get away. We can’t wait to go back-

Fantastic Week At The Beach
Wendy is a great host for this condo. It had everything we needed, along with beach accessories like sand chairs and an umbrella, boogie boards and beach toys. Very comfortable setting and easy access to the beach and ponds throughout the complex. Our little dog lost a couple of pounds, which she needed, running the beaches and up and down the stairs.

Wonderful Getaway
Just needed a place to getaway and relax. This was a perfect choice. Cozy home just steps to the beach in a safe gated community. It is dog friendly which was very important to me and dog owners were very responsible. I felt very much at home.

Enjoyable Beach getaway
We enjoyed a fabulous week at Cape San Blas and Barrier Dunes. Our unit was the perfect location and felt like home for the week. Having a grill on the back deck was great especially during these times of social distancing. The best part, we brought our dog and she enjoyed it as much as our 6 year old. We had a great time and will definitely be back. Wendy was fabulous to book through and provided everything we needed ahead of time. Wendy even provided great recommendations for dinners, grocery shopping, chair and umbrella rentals and more. We really enjoyed our week's stay

Clean, comfortable condo with great location and gracious, hospitable owner
When our original vacation plans were sidetracked by Hurricane Dorian, we had to scramble to salvage a quick, end of summer trip. Fortunately for us, I came across Wendy Jackson, owner of Wendy's Cape Escape - a rental agency offering nearly a dozen properties personally owned by Wendy in Cape San Blas.Wendy was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. From the time I initially contacted her about a rental, up until her follow up email making sure we enjoyed our stay, she has been thorough, courteous, and friendly. The condo was very clean and situated just steps from beach access. Additionally, Wendy stocked the condo with a number of necessary items - everything from paper goods to beach equipment to towels specifically labeled for your dog - all of which came in very handy. We loved being able to bring our dog to the pet-friendly condo, as well as the pet friendly beaches. However, if for some reason you aren't an animal lover, you would never know that dogs had previously been in the unit.Lastly, the Cape is absolutely back open for business and welcoming your tourist dollar. The beach next to the condo was in excellent shape, and just as beautiful as it had been prior to Michael. While Mexico Beach has a long road ahead, both Port Saint Joe and Apalachicola have numerous dining options and are within a reasonable drive of the condo. During our stay, we were able to go to dinner in both towns and still make it back in plenty of time before our 2 year old daughter got cranky! If you don't want to venture as far, the Cape has options as well. There's no reason to have any trepidation when planning a trip to the Forgotten Coast at this point. I'd highly recommend you contact Wendy and Wendy's Cape Escape when you do. We will be back soon!

I'm so glad you enjoyed Waters Edge...it is VERY close to the beach (and the beachfront pool which is s double bonus). I passed your CLEAN comments on to my team...they work very hard and always appreciate the positive comments!I don't own all of the rentals on my website (CapeEscape(dot)com), but I have owned in Barrier Dunes for 15+ years now and LOVE it! So many great memories there with family! Now my kids are old enough to go without us which is sad!Look forward to having you back!
Fan jam at the beach
Excellent week with my two sons and family. waters edge was very clean and had everything we needed. The beach chairs and toys a plus. I highly recommend Barrier Dunes to get away from the busy pace of other beach locations

Great Condo
Bright and clean. Fully stocked with plenty of towels and sheets. Lots of kitchenware. Short easy walk to the white sands beach. Short walk to the T. H. Stone Memorial St. Joseph Peninsula State Park. Reasonably priced.

Can't say how much we love the Cape!
We stayed at the Water's Edge unit in Barrier Dunes in April/May 2019. The townhome had everything we needed and was very clean. Barrier Dunes has recovered after the hurricane #capestrong. We've been staying at the Cape for 10 years and the beach is as beautiful as we remember it. The water was inviting and the pool was perfect for afternoon relaxing. Make sure you stop by Weber's Donuts for some delicious homemade donuts in the morning. The Trading Post is stocked with essentials if you don't want to leave the Cape. We walked down the beach to find the Donna Kay fishing boat. It's maybe 1-2 miles south of the Stumphole (rocks). There were a lot of shells to find along the way. The road is almost finished with repairs and we had no problem passing to and from. It's dark at night, perfect for stargazing and seeing the Milky Way. Stop at Coneheads for ice cream and a meal. It's right on the Cape and has delicious food. St Joseph Peninsula State Park is still beautiful and is worth a day trip. It's literally down the road from Barrier Dunes. Port St. Joe is just a 25 minute drive from Barrier Dunes. There are several shops and boutiques on Reid Street to explore. There is a Farmer's Market the first and third Saturdays at the end of Reid Street. Piggly Wiggly has everything you need from groceries to souvenirs. We were pleasantly surprised to find Olive Garden salad dressing and the coconut water we like. Pepper's is good Mexican style food and Provisions has good sandwiches and pasta. We absolutely love the Cape and can't wait to go back. We're already planning our next trip to the Comeback Coast!
