Good Experience
Overall this unit was very nice and we enjoyed our stay. Although check in/out is not actually on site of the complex, it was still a quick and easy process. We knew where the office was because we have stayed in Marco before and then keys were waiting in lock box. Unit was updated, high end appliances and fairly nice furniture. The balcony is the best part as it’s very large and had nice outdoor seating where we had most of our breakfast meals. We appreciated that it had a beach locker with chairs, umbrella, beach toys, and a beach wagon which made it very convenient to take stuff back and forth from the beach. We had two pieces of feedback which is why I am giving 4 out of 5 stars. First was that the ice maker in the refrigerator doesn’t work we tried turning it off and on throughout the week without success and therefore we had to buy ice multiple times. But the main thing feedback is around the laundry policy. As condo owners ourselves who also rent we were very surprised to read that the only laundry you would do free is one load of the linens so basically bed sheets. Anything additional we would be charged $25 a load meaning we had to wash all of our towels ourselves the night before leaving. We couldn’t even take showers in the morning because we then wouldn’t have time to wash and dry those towels before checkout time at 10am. After paying a couple of hundred dollars for a cleaning fee that really just doesn’t seem right and not a typical practice that we have seen in any other unit anywhere we have ever traveled. Also concerning to me is that if we had not just been spending some down time to read through all of these details we wouldn’t have ever guessed that was the case as anywhere else we have ever stayed we would always leave the towels to be washed. Further more, especially with Covid these days, it would be concerning to me that you’re relying on customers to handle that laundry correctly. It would concern me that in order to avoid paying these fees that somebody may be tempted to just quickly dry or fold up towels and put them in the closet giving the perception that they were cleaned just to avoid this additional $25 fee per load. As a customer I would feel more comfortable knowing that the owner/cleaning crew had taken the appropriate steps to ensure everything is cleaned appropriately before the next person were to use them. This is the main reason for our 4 star because it was an inconvenience and concerning for reasons outlined above.
