This accommodation is the perfect location for exploring Key West. You can walk to the Hemmingway House, the Butterfly Conservatory and stroll Duval St with it's many restaurants, shops, galleries and museums. Come home to a king size bed, full kitchen and everything you need to make your own cocktails and prepare some famous Key West shrimp.
People ask me about parking more than anything and this condo does not come with assigned parking but there are 3 spaces on the street out front available on a first come basis. I encourage you to not bring a car into Old Town, it can be parked at a City parking garage or elsewhere in town and you can still get about Old Town easily on foot or bike. Old Town is an historic district and over 100 years ago it was not anticipated that tens of thousands of visitors would come to enjoy it's beauty. There simply is not enough parking in Old Town for all who come here and changing that would affect the historical value. Locals have adapted and have taken to bicycles to travel the Town. I live in mid-town, which is an area where parking is not a problem, but when I head to Old Town for shopping, dining and entertainment I take my bike.
There are small beaches all around the island and several are within walking distance of this property; Southernmost Beach would be closest at 6 blocks away. Fort Zachary Taylor State Park has the beach that locals like best, it is a State Park so there is a fee but the facilities are excellent: picnic tables, grills, outdoor shower, indoor shower, change rooms, restaurant, chaise lounges for rent and a water view that is the best in Key West.
If you prefer a pool there is an excellent public pool at 300 Catherine St. The MLK Community Pool is an 11 minute walk from the condo and this roof-top, outdoor pool offers excellent sunbathing and views of Key West.
There are also hotels that welcome patrons of their restaurant to use their pools and I provide info on those locations in the condo.
Area Information
The neighborhood is a residential and commercial mix and includes a scooter/bike rental business, a health food store, a dessert restaurant, a late night bar with karaoke, a florist and Salty Dog t-shirt store and a cleaning supply business. Go into the next block and find a pharmacy, pizza take out and numerous restaurants.
The condo is a block away from Key Wes’s main attraction, Duval Street.
Beaches are about a 12 minute walk in two directions, Southernmost Beach is at the southern end of Duval St and Simonton St Beach is at the northern end of that street.

About the host: I moved from Canada to Key West in 1992 and have enjoyed every minute of living here...even the hurricanes have left fond memories of a community that comes together and works together in tough times. You would think the weather would be the best thing about Key West but really it's the people. And the weather ain't bad either.
Why this property? I love this Studio, in fact I like it so much this is the second Studio I purchased at the same location. The property is a great throw back to simpler time, it was a 5 unit hotel with an office until some brilliant developer realized owning a little piece of Key West is better than none at all and he turned it into 6 condominiums. It is located in the heart of Old Town, within walking distance of virtually the everything. Bustling Duval Street is only one block over and parallel to Simonton St. and even though it is a short walk to restaurants, museums, shops, and a pharmacy this location is quiet, nestled in between two other residential properties. Across the street is a wonderful Health Food store, on one corner of the block is one of Key West's more eclectic bars, Bobby's Monkey Bar, known as the late night hangout for Key West performers and at the other corner of the block is Better Than Sex, a fabulous dessert restaurant. All this and Key West's free Old Town bus service, The Duval Loop, stops a half block away in front of Better Than Sex.

Perfect Place to Stay
This was our 3rd time staying in Pam's wonderful little cottage. My husband and I really love this place. Pam is awesome to work with, she always answers all my questions quickly. It was great being close to all the action but still peaceful. Pam has everything that you need in the cottage. Looking forward to going for our 4th stay!
