Most impressive and unforgettable is the view through 2 large sliding doors that open the great room up to the lanai and the about 1 mile wide and never ending Caloosehatchee just below. The view is constantly changing as the river changes from a smooth and almost glassy surface to having big wave action and white caps on windier days. Sail boats, kayaks as well as pontoon boats add to the mix of quiet activities as can be seen just by sitting on the couch in the great room.
The ROKU TV in great room and in master bedroom offers access to Netflix, prime Amazon and so much more.
The kitchen is fully furnished and even comes with waffle iron and Keurig coffee maker as well as traditional cone type coffee maker.
The dining area is Florida style with dolphin table, art work and of course mirrors to see the river from anywhere regardless of seating around table.
A hallway gives access to washer and dryer hidden away behind a bifold door and to a bathroom with tub and shower.

Why this property? We looked all along both sides of the Caloosahatchee River around the Ft Myers area and chose Schooner Bay for the exceptional waterfront location, abundance of amenities, and secluded peninsula location with easy access to shopping, golf, pickle ball, entertainment, restaurants and all of Ft Myers waterfront activities as well as opportunity to take sailing lessons on the Caloosehatchee only a 4 min walk to get there.

Additional features of Unit 217
My husband, Paul Fine, recently wrote a lengthy and detailed review of Unit 217. I want to mention additional amenities: - The guest bathroom has a full shower, toilet, and sink/vanity. - In the living room, the center section of the wall unit/display case contains a Murphy bed. - The "Schooner Bay Condominiums" office manager was very helpful with general questions and new-arrival issues.Karen Fine

An excellent condo for a multi-month stay
This unit is perfect for two people for a multi-month stay. The second-story unit is spacious and well laid-out, with a screened-in lanai that overlooks the Caloosahatchee River and contains all-weather chairs and two tables. Downtown Fort Myers is in the distance, along with excellent views, a half-mile away, of the Caloosahatchee Bridge, the Edison Bridge beyond that, and the wooded south shore of the river. The extensive downriver views even include the Midpoint Bridge a few miles to the southwest. Residents can watch powerboat and sailboat traffic, and kayakers and pelicans. The Edison-Ford Estate is directly across the Caloosahatchee, as well. This unit contains a mirrored dining room; a comfortable living-room sofa and cushioned chairs; a large-screen TV; a compact, well-laid-out kitchen with all cooking amenities, a double-bowl sink, microwave oven, stovetop & oven, refrigerator/freezer, and dishwasher; a stacked clothes-washer & dryer concealed behind a hallway door; air-conditioning; a large walk-in bedroom closet; and an ensuite shower and toilet. Bedroom dresser and drawer space abounds. There are combined overhead fans & lights in the kitchen, living-room, lanai, and master bedroom. The master bedroom bed is king-size, with a nearby TV and nightstands. A large writing desk/work desk is at the bedroom window, which faces the river. Schooner Bay Condominiums are located at the very tranquil western-end of a peninsula that juts east-west into the river. Two-lane North Key Drive, which comes off of U.S. 41, flows to a gated roundabout. Lowered gates compel visitors to use a security intercom to access a guard office. Only after the guard confirms that the vehicle is authorized to enter the property is the gate raised. Unauthorized vehicular traffic cannot reach Schooner Bay Condominiums. We felt secure and safe in the locale. Downtown Fort Myers is just across the Caloosahatchee Bridge. Gas stations, supermarkets, restaurants, the City of Cape Coral, and other places in Lee Country are very convenient and close. Interstate 75 is located a few miles to the east. The “Columbia” condominium building is amazingly quiet. Many of the residents have lived there for years or use their condo unit for seasonal visits. They were friendly and helpful. At night, the neighborhood is dead-silent, with no outside traffic or inside residential sounds. We felt as though we were staying on a private island. We highly recommend this condo unit.
