Panama City Beach

If you’re searching for the best of what Florida offers (think sun, sand, family attractions, and nightlife) set your sights on Panama City Beach. There are so many adventures to be had here on the land and sea. The “Spring Break capital of the world” comes alive in March, that’s for sure, but it also welcomes visitors the other 11 months of the year. With over 300 sunny days per year, and temperatures hovering in the low 80’s, there’s no bad time to book a trip.

Naples

Upscale, charming Naples serves as a perfect backdrop for a glitzy Florida vacation. World class dining and shopping draw wealthy travelers to the area. The turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico provide endless entertainment and relaxation, too. Hunt for seashells while you pack together sand for the perfect castle. Take a fan boat through the Everglades to experience southern Florida’s amazing ecosystem. Don’t forget to pack your clubs – this city is famous for its incredible golfing.

Destin

Offering emerald green waters flanked by miles of sugar white sand (perfect for building sand castles) it’s no wonder Destin’s known as “The World’s Luckiest Fishing Village”. The warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico highlight the area’s many attractions – both by land and by sea. Spend an entire day outdoors sport fishing, parasailing or scuba diving.

With over 340 days of sunshine per year, and average temperatures that never drop below 60 during the day, this is a world-class retreat any month of the year.

Kissimmee

A short drive south of Orlando finds you in sunny, friendly Kissimmee. Here you’ll be near all the popular theme parks like Disney, but you’ll be away from the bustling crowds. Rentals will cost less than a stay in Orlando, so you’ll have extra cash to spend on park tickets and meals. This area also offers activities for those who love outdoor exploration, with exotic plants and animals in the local nature preserves and great restaurant options.

Cape Coral

Sunny, friendly Cape Coral is a smart choice for those who want a quiet escape away from the hustle and bustle of the major Florida hot spots. Renowned Gulf Coast beaches, verdant golf courses and family attractions like the popular Sun Splash Family Waterpark make Cape Coral an appealing destination for visitors. With more than 400 miles of canals (more than Venice, Italy), boating, fishing and watersports are favorites among those spending time here. Walk through a nature preserve, treat yourself to find dining, or shop away the afternoon when the sun gets too hot.

I am glad to see Destin is so high on this list because we always have a great time there but most of our friends haven’t visited the area. It doesn’t have as a big of a brand name as some of the other cities on this list but it’s so fun and very affordable. We usually stay with Exclusive 30A (they’re a vacation rental company there) and they have so many different options so we’ve stayed near multiple beaches of Destin. That being said, I may look into buying a house of my own in the area just so I can have a go-to destination when I visit. Just need to save a little more…

My family loves Destin too and after years of vacationing throughout 30A we finally pulled the trigger on our own vacation rental. Thanks for the Exclusive 30A recommendation James, we’re going to look in to their management services and from what we’ve read so far they have excellent customer service for owners and guests. Hopefully now that we have a home in Florida we can visit some of the other cities on this list as well because they look absolutely amazing!
